There are three topics that I was always told as a child that you don't debate or argue over: Race, Religion and Politics. But over the course of years, I have often times found myself discussing at least one of them and even to the point where I'm left defending both my race and my religion. So today, I feel compel to share my own personal opinion as it reflects to this new dawning age of the Trump. First off, I am truly saddened that Obama is no longer President but I know his work will continue on. That job or any job has the ability to build you up and then turn around and tear you completely apart. His presidency for many of Americans specifically, blacks was often times tumultuous particularly how many felt, he didn't speak up more for black Americans however, people failed to realize that he is not the sole leader of Blacks, Whites, Hispanics or Asians hence he is the leader of the "Free World-America". When he made decisions, he made them according to the needs of the people which comprise of people from all ethnicities. For me as a black american in 2008, I witnessed something that I never thought in a million years that I would see. In this lifetime, I witnessed a black man from the south side of Chicago become President of the United States. That moment within itself will go down in my book as "The Most Historical Moment in Black History". I am proud to have witnessed that moment. But not only that but I am proud to have witnessed a black family display the epitome of dignity, grace, values and integrity. This family acted as a model for all of those that believe that this kind of black love no longer exist. For eight years, they were scandal-free but yet endured so much hate and disrespect that I never recalled another president receive. Not even Clinton for his extramarital affairs and not even Bush for the illusion of the whole Weapon of Mass Destruction concept. Obama presidency showed me that race was live and well in America and his becoming was uncomfortable for some. With all of that said, I am going to miss Former President Obama and his entire family. But like the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end". I am not a fan of Trump and the rhetoric that rose him to presidential fame. It is upsetting that someone could use such rhetoric to rise to the top but people do what they have to do to get to where they want to. Despite what he did, I just hope that he focuses on making the many things he said wrong, right. I hope he works for all Americans and display a high level of compassion, respect and empathy to all people. America isn't perfect and many of the choices we as the people have made weren't perfect either however, over the course of American history we have seen this country get better, stronger and wiser. What has been broken can be fixed and for that I hope that he see that what makes this country the best is it's PEOPLE!
Well on Saturday, I finished my 6 day fast which consisted of prayer, devotional reading and eating one meal a day. I attempted to fast years ago but had no clue on how to do it properly. Seeking advice from my mother, I think I got it right if not oh well I tried. Anyways afterwards I'm feeling pretty good and comfortable about what I did and how. Sooo this weekend, I attended my first simulator/video gaming/STEM convention and boy was it super awesome. My kids and I really had an amazing time. We had the chance to see all kinds of cool games and gadgets. I think the coolest thing was seeing the demos to a lot of video games. The guys and girls looked so young. It's simply amazing how the brain stimulates and generates creativity. I wish I had some of that to go around. Anyways, the focus of the convention was STEM. So of course, NASA was there. They had a machine where you could see how a hurricane up to 70mph feel. The military was there showcasing stimulators specifically regarding the situation in the desert. Microsoft had all the cool tablets and laptops for display and also for my minecraft lovers. Kids were all over the minecraft games. My boys got a chance to jam on the Xbox One to DNCE " Cake by the Ocean". Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Such a great turnout and many cool things to see and do. If you guys know any children that are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics please...please...help them continue to explore those realms. Who knows they can be the next John Glenn or Albert Einstein!
Well guys have a great week! See ya next week! Peace ✌🏾
Hey ya'll! I hope you all had a wonderful New Years and endured your first week of the year. My work week was slow, the weather was gorgeous and I was able to complete more work-related training. I have to complete 40hrs of informal training by August and right now, I'm sitting at 22 hours. It has taken me 4 months to get to that number (hmmm...interesting). No I don't have much to go but if you knew the training I was taking sometimes, it takes me an entire day to complete one subject. You want to know why? Uh because, it is death by training slides. Anywho! This week, my church is fasting and I'm joining them as well. There are a few things that I would like to happen this year so I'm hoping that all those things begin to come into fruition. I've started working on my YouTube channel, I didn't do much but make a YouTube banner, but HEY! It's a start. Once I get it up and running, I'll be sure to share with you all. Sooo this week, I was able to start back watching 2 of my favorite shows: Teen Wolf and Vikings. I'm sad (insert teary emoji) that this is Teen Wolf final season. This show has been off the chain for the past 6 years, if you've never seen it and you like teeny-bopper, vampire, werewolf, banshee then this might just be the show for YOUUUUUUUUUUUU! Not your thing??!!!???!! Then if you LOVE history like I do and mythology then my friend, if you haven't checked out Vikings on the History channel. Then you missing out for sure that show is the sniz-i-e (in my lil scrappy voice/he's a rapper). It follows the rise and fall of the legendary Viking king Ragnar Lothbrook and it chronicles his invasion of many European countries that we know today as well as the tale of how his sons will be legends of their own. These men and women have a strong presence in Viking culture and history. I absolutely love the show, so if you haven't seen it GO WATCH IT NOW!
Well that's all I got, you all have a great week! Stay warm!
